Then I laminated the set. They are now ready to go in my students' literacy boxes. I plan to run a second set and place in their three-pronged SHIP to SHORE folders to use as a reference at home as well.

Open Court Sound Spelling Cards Reference Sheet
Open Court Teachers, this one is for you! I just compiled a FREEBIE one-page reference sheet with all of the sound spelling cards. I printed a class set and ran back-to-back with a digraph and blends reference sheet created by Lacey Yates from Wild About Teaching! It is available for FREE as well in her TPT store. You have to check her stuff out!

This just made me super excited!! I'd love to talk with you about a custom set. I know a few teachers that really struggle with space and those cards are SO long! Have you ever considered making a set that's smaller?? Just a thought :)

I am so excited to have this. I have an old set of the long cards that I have to fold in half and they are all beat up. I like that this can go right in their homework binders. Although the pictures are slightly different from my ancient version LOL, but close enough to work. Once again you have made my life easier. Thanks so much!

Do you by chance have the chants for all of the sound spelling cards? I have only the first 26, and after moving, I cannot find the last ones. Thank you for compiling this in a smaller version, I cannot wait to put these on my writing workshop folders this year.

LOVE this, but looking for the kindergarten cards on a sheet like this. Do you have one or know where I can find it. Trying to save myself the hours of creating it. THANK YOU.

I do not have one for kindergarten... nor do I know where to get one. Sorry!
DeleteI am looking for the original open court wall sound/ spelling cards, along with the old Word Line book. These would be from the 70's. Anyone?
ReplyDeleteTina - I know this is an old comment but my colleague and I have put together all new wall cards for the original open court. I'd be happy to share with you the sounds and spellings.....however, I wouldn't be able to share the actual cards or graphics without chatting with her first as they are all her own original graphics. We don't have the old Word Line Book, though. If you are interested, please email me at marniesm at comcast dot net.
DeleteIs there any way I can get these cards as well. I taught first grade many years ago, but now my daughter is struggling with reading and writing... and these would help her so much.
DeleteA school teacher put the 70s/80s curriculum online. I taught my struggling reader with his materials.

That being said, I would give my eye teeth for a physical set of those wall cards. The old version of the open court phonics is head&shoulders beyond anything that is on the market right now.
Hi! I am desperate to find a large set of these alphabet cards from Open Court! We switched reading series, (Wonders)and the new cards are awful! Any idea where I can get a set?
ReplyDeleteIs there somewhere to buy these flash cards? Please let me know
