ReplyDeleteYou know...I never realized how important word banks were until I started doing your super sentences. I realized the kids had no idea what to write about (when looking at the picture)...to me, ideas come popping right into my head that i could write about...But I've realized that my 2nd graders really had no background knowledge about most things to just start writing - and that was just on the sentences! yeesh! lol. Thanks for "teaching me" an important lesson :)
I guess I should specify that I came down to 2nd after spending 7 years in 3rd grade, so I assume they know a lot more than they actually do..lol
